Well, it was a java library back in the old java android days. Due to Kotlin it got a lot more non verbose already. I am pretty sure, you can cut that code still down. However, I am not saying you should change the article or even your code for this lib. But I know that for some reason it's a very invisible library, even it's a great library to consider when handling offline API storage (initially was created for the NY times app).
